Lanius Bird Tours is a small company, which although relatively new to this very competitive business, its founders Dave Read & Andy Shooter, have well over 40 years of birding experience between them. During this time they have travelled widely, becoming familiar with many of the best birding destinations in Europe. For many years they have shared this experience, and their love for wildlife by leading walks for local wildlife groups, in addition to organising many trips for friends and family.

Based in Nottinghamshire our aim is to run friendly affordable birdwatching holidays, departing where possible from local airports in the Midlands. Our tours are aimed at like-minded people with a interest in wildlife, all levels from beginners to experts are catered for, and it’s this mix of members that compliments each other, maximising our enjoyment and knowledge on each trip.  We offer a range of both short breaks and full tours throughout Europe, and are already planning some exciting new tours for the future. We can also arrange tailor made tours to your specific requirements for small groups, either to a chosen region or in search of specific target birds.

While primarily concentrating on the birdlife of any chosen destination, time wherever possible will also be given to watching mammals, butterflies, reptiles and anything else of interest we may encounter.  Our tours are all intended not only to offer incredible birdwatching, but also an enjoyable relaxing holiday. All tours will be run at a leisurely pace, hopefully allowing plenty of time to get prolonged good views of target birds. Whilst doing this we may not see every species possible or get the highest trip lists, however we will be ensuring long lasting fond memories of the target birds of a chosen destination.
